Coach David got involved with CCA Volleyball (now HVA) when his oldest daughter, Lexi, started playing in middle school. Lexi moved on up to the high school squad, and Coach David eventually started coaching a CCA middle school team when his youngest daughter, Tori, began playing. He coached the MS team for a couple years before moving up with that group of kids to the JV level. Coach David took over the Covenant Volleyball program from Coach Terry Abel after Lexi graduated in 2020, and has coached Varsity since that time. Coach David has coached club volleyball in the 13U, 14U, 15U and 18U age groups for a couple of clubs in the area.

Coach Q played as a Defensive Specialist and Libero for Covenant Volleyball on the JV squad and later on Varsity for a few seasons until she graduated in 2020. She also played several years of club ball as a DS/Libero, and on several rec teams. After graduating high school, Coach Q started assistant coaching with Coach David on the Varsity squad, and helping out with the other teams. Coach Q still plays any chance she gets in adult leagues and pick-up games. Watch out because she's a bulldozer on defense and will run right through you if she thinks the ball is about to hit the floor! The "Q" story is a pretty good one - ask her about it sometime!

Coach Shannon was intoduced to volleyball at around 15 years old when his younger sisters started playing. His interest in the sport began solely to be better than his sisters (both of whom went on to play in college). Coach Shannon continued to learn the game from private lessons, picking up stuff from his sisters, and by being in the gym with Coach Wendy and her daughter Shelby. He played a lot of recreational volleyball and became a sought-after player in local leagues and games. Coach Shannon got involved with CCA Volleyball (now HVA) as the assistant coach for the middle school teams in the 2021 and 2022 seasons, and we're glad he's continuing his involvement with our program!

Coach Mak began playing for CCA Volleyball on the JV squad during her freshman year. Coach Mak was primarily a 6-rotation Outside Hitter due to her great serve-receive passing, awesome defense, and super hard serving. She was a kingpin on the Varsity squad during her last two high school seasons before graduating in 2023. Coach Mak played club volleyball for several years, and is super excited about sharing her knowledge and experience with younger players!

Coach Jeff and family jumped into the program when his daughter, Halle, started playing for CCA her freshman year. Coach Jeff initially got involved by helping out at practices. His activities blossomed from shagging loose balls in the gym to assisting with the Varsity squad after a couple of years. Coach Jeff has since been an assistant coach and a head coach at the 17U and 18U club level, and has helped coach a local boys' volleyball team. He has studied the game, skills, drills, techniques, etc. to become a valued asset of the program. Coach Jeff earned a funny nickname during the 2022 season that everyone should ask him about.

Coach Wendy's path with CCA Volleyball (now HVA) began in 2012 as she assisted with the JV and Varsity teams until 2017. She has been back with the program since 2022 coaching JV after taking a few years away to watch her daughters play volleyball in college. Coach Wendy has coached club volleyball since 2007, and initiated the local junior beach volleyball program in 2015. She has coached locally with Randolph School, and nationally with the USA High Performance Olympic Development pipeline. Coach Wendy is a Physical Therapist and enjoys teaching movement literacy, health and wellness. You'll also catch her playing softball in her spare time. Ask her how many in-the-park home runs she has this season!

Coach Mouser started playing on CCA's JV team as a 9th grader, and continued up thru the Varsity team before graduating in 2023. Coach Mouser played all three hitter positions during her career, most notably as an Outside Hitter her junior and senior seasons. She was an outstanding serve-receive passer, and played great defense due to her athleticism and play reading skills. Coach Mouser played club volleyball for several years and has a good grasp on all facets of the game. She also has a great attitude, and a hilarious sense of humor!
